What Are The EMDR Certification Requirements?
To become EMDR certified, mental health professionals must...

-
Hold an advanced degree and be licensed or pursuing licensure

-
Complete an EMDRIA-approved training program (such as this one), which includes both theoretical learning and hands-on practice

-
Complete at least 50 hours of clinical experience with EMDR, treating 25 clients, and 20 hours of consultation with an EMDRIA-approved consultant

-
Submit documentation of their training, experience, and consultation, along with case studies demonstrating competency.
Certification is then maintained through ongoing education and professional development. For specific details, check the official EMDRIA website.

Your EMDR Certification Mentor
With a strong foundation in trauma recovery and a deep dedication to helping others heal, I am committed to guiding you through the EMDR certification process.
As the CEO of Trauma Recovery Services of Arizona, I specialize in using EMDR therapy to address PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other trauma-related conditions. My extensive experience includes working with BIPOC professionals, veterans, incest survivors, and individuals dealing with complex trauma.

My journey began as a first-generation college graduate, earning a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Arizona and a Master's in Counseling from Arizona State University. My passion for EMDR therapy was sparked in 2015 while serving as a Trauma Services Manager for a Southwest Tribe. There, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of EMDR, which led me to become certified and later dedicate myself to training others, particularly BIPOC clinicians.

In addition to my clinical work, I am deeply committed to mentoring, leadership development, and contributing to professional organizations, all of which inform my approach to teaching and supporting future EMDR therapists.
